From the Great Barrier Reef to travelling over the rainforest in Kuranda, this is an in-depth yet concise trip that offers up the highlights of the east coast with a few lesser explored destinations for good measure. Arrive into Sydney and be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. There will be a half-day city coach tour to acquaint you with the sights, including the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening on a welcome cruise on the Sydney Harbour tonight.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some time in Sydney this morning before flying over to the Gold Coast, famous for its uninterrupted coastline fringed by vibrant communities and lush wilderness areas. Upon arrival, you can spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace - perhaps stroll along the golden sands of Surfers Paradise Beach, or take a glow-worm tour!
You will have a full day to explore this beautiful area at your leisure – 52km of golden beaches at your doorstep. Perhaps grab a board and learn to surf, see what’s on menu at the local restaurants along the waterfront, or head into the lush hinterland for a day amidst the subtropical wilderness.

Leave the Gold Coast in the morning and travel through Brisbane to head north to the Sunshine Coast. There will be a visit to the world-famous Australia Zoo which was made famous by the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and is home to a vast selection of animals and birds from around the world. You will gain a thorough understanding of the conservation of the area and will be able to see a number of species up close. Afterwards, travel to the chic resort town of Noosa, settle into your room and enjoy dinner in the company of your fellow travellers.

After some free time spent in Noosa this morning, this afternoon travel to Hervey Bay and join your cruise transfer to Fraser Island, a World Heritage-listed Site, located at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef, a secluded paradise of untamed landscapes and blissful beaches. Settle into your room this evening and enjoy a dinner in the company of your fellow travellers.
The following day will be spent exploring this wonderful area with a half-day tour before heading along some of the walking trails throughout the island. Filled with ancient rainforests and coloured sand cliffs, Fraser Island is a truly stunning part of Australia’s landscape. With some time at leisure in the afternoon, visit Seventy-Five Mile beach, watch out for the exciting marine life such as humpback whales or visit the wreck of the Maheno trans-Tasman liner which was driven ashore in 1935 by a cyclone. Alternatively, simply relax on the beach and unwind.

Take a morning ferry across to the picturesque Hervey Bay – often considered to be the jewel of Queensland and it’s easy to see why upon arrival - keep a lookout for marine life here. Afterwards, journey through sugarcane country to arrive in the city of Rockhampton - known as the beef capital of Australia.

Explore the charming historical town of Rockhampton, known as the gateway to the coast and the Outback. Founded in 1853, the city is home to beautiful heritage architecture and a rich, fascinating history. Then, travel to Airlie Beach and enjoy one of the region’s most beautiful beaches. Here you will join a ferry through the sparkling Whitsundays and arrive at Hamilton Island. Here, enjoy dinner later this evening.
Rockhampton is the gateway to both the Outback and the coast – explore some of the beautiful provincial gardens in Australia with a guided tour before making your way to Airlie Beach for a ferry ride to the sparkling Whitsundays. End the day with a stay at the pretty Hamilton Island Resort which makes typical island life a reality.

Today is at leisure to give you the chance to explore more of Hamilton Island. Go snorkelling & explore the many species of tropical fish, take a stroll through the rainforest, relax by the pool, take part in exhilarating watersports or indulge with a rejuvenating spa treatment. Whichever takes your fancy - you won't be disappointed!

After breakfast, head north via a ferry transfer to Shute Harbour to re-board the coach to Townsville. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour of this tropical place before continuing on to Mission Beach where the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest meet. These two World Heritage-listed areas offer superb scenery. Relax on Mission Beach for the remainder of the day and make use of the facilities at the resort.

Leave Mission Beach in the morning and journey north, passing rolling hills, tropical rainforests and farmland. This region, defined as the Atherton Tablelands, is part of the Waterfalls Circuit which includes the Millaa Millaa Falls. Make your way towards Cairns, stopping along the way to visit the Curtain Fig Tree which is an icon of Australia. Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway in Kuranda and make your way over the treetops to Caravonica Lakes – a truly memorable experience. Arrive in Cairns in the afternoon where you’ll enjoy lush mountain views from your spacious room for the next three nights.

Great Barrier Reef
Cruise in a fast catamaran like a local from Cairns to Reef Magic’s exclusive reef activity platform to spend a few hours enjoying the glorious and magical marine life and the beautiful, colourful coral. There will be the chance to take advantage of the unique opportunity to snorkel in the secluded coral lagoon, as well as walk through the underwater observatory, join a tour on the semi-submersible or glass-bottomed boat, or relax on the sundeck of the ship - this is truly a fabulously unique experience not to be missed.
Spend time admiring the astonishing array of tropical fish and coral in one of the world’s most famous locations, take an interactive part in a corroboree before heading back to the hotel to relax. In the evening, enjoy an Aboriginal cultural dinner and performance with your group - discover the spiritual concept known as Dreamtime, and walk along a flame-lit pathway to your meal.

Drive to Port Douglas for a tour of the township before enjoying some free time to relax and make the most of your surroundings. This patch of tropical paradise is the meeting point of the World Heritage-listed Daintree rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef Afterwards, return to Cairns for your transfer to the airport where the tour comes to an end.
