An amazing array of animal life can be discovered throughout the year, such as the delightful Green and Loggerhead Turtles. Heron is renowned for its abundance of birdlife with dense Pisonia forests which are home to thousands of Noddy Terns and Shearwater Mutton Birds. Here you soon sense that you are very much a guest of the natural environment; you're here to to be part of it, to enjoy and to learn from it. First and foremost, Heron Island is protected habitat for a stunning variety of wildlife.
If it's school holidays, you can sign the kids up for the Heron Junior Rangers Program (7-12yrs), where they'll get up close and personal with a wonderful variety of marine creatures, and explore the fascinating coral cay.
After a day of island exploration, pay a visit to the Aqua Soul Spa, where you can relax and rejuvenate in delightful surrounds whilst experiencing a treatment. Heron Island is open year round, with bird season at its peak in January to March. Turtle nesting season is also during this period, and offers the unique opportunity to see hatchlings scurrying to the sea.
There are 6 types of accommodation all well appointed ad the top end Point Suites and the secluded Beach House are stunning with great views.
Breakfast and lunch are buffet style while dinner features a 3 course table d'hote and Tuesday night Aussie BBQ buffet at Baillie's Bar. If you prefer to have all your meals pre paid there is a great meal package, ask us for details.
