DAY 2 FLINDERS RANGES TO ADELAIDE Your expert guide will take you through some of the most unforgettable scenery. The Flinders Ranges are home to a vast number of native animals and birds. Some of Australia’s best-known animals abound amongst the gum trees and on the steep, ragged slopes of the gorges. Drive through Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges to the western side of the range. This region was once an ancient seabed and it now carries some of the most important early fossils. Here you will find 600 million year old fossils, a time span that defies understanding. The homeward route will take you through historic towns that hark back to the pioneering days. As you travel along the coastal road you will see the old ports and seaside towns that were so important in the development of this region. The countryside slowly changes as you approach Adelaide, but the memory of the raw majesty that is the Flinders will remain with you. (B, L)
For 3 days we suggest staying at Wilpena Pound for another day and take a guided flight tour.
