The perfect circle out of Sydney. In your own time head for the Blue Mountains and stop ff in areas that the main tours do not go. This is an incredibly beautiful wilderness a stone's throw from Sydney and a complete contrast. It was the Blue Mountains that stopped the early settlers going inland, they believed them to be impassable.
Then it is on to the multitude of wineries in one of the world's famous wine growng regions, the Hunter Valley. Thankfully you have a night stop so sampling the grape offering is unrestrained.
To finish off this perfect short self drive holiday in Australia, you stay at Port Stephens, where fabulous beaches and hidden bays are found. What a great little trip.
